Short Description/Objective

The research project of Medicover Genetics Cyprus (formerly NIPD Genetics Biotech Ltd) focuses on the development of pioneering technological DNA assays, offering advanced next-generation genetic tests that have significantly upgraded prenatal and oncology screening.

The project was co-financed within the framework of the Scheme “Development and Promotion of Internationally Competitive Innovative Products and Services from Existing Enterprises (INNOVATE)” of the RESTART Research Programmes of the Research and Innovation Foundation (RIF), under the Cohesion Policy Programme “THALIA 2021-2027”.

Expected Benefits/Outcomes

The project transformed the Cypriot research effort into an internationally recognized biotechnology and genetic diagnostics company, which offers specialized solutions in reproductive genetics and oncology. In this way, it highlights the contribution of investments in research and innovation toward strengthening the competitiveness of the Cypriot economy, developing a knowledge-based economy, and generating sustainable socioeconomic value through early diagnosis.
