Short Description/Objective 

The project concerns the construction of a rainwater drainage system with a total length of 20,8 km.

The project is part of the planning of the Sewerage Board of Limassol – Amathus for overall flood protection in Major Limassol and is expected to contribute substantially to the elimination of the flooding problem in Limassol.

The project also extends to all five (5) Municipalities located within the boundaries of the Sewerage Board of Limassol – Amathus (Limassol, Agios Athanasios, Kato Polemidia, Mesa Geitonia and Germasogeia) and most of it is constructed on public roads.

Expected Benefits/Outcomes

With the completion of the project, an area of approximately 17.000 hectares is expected to be protected from flooding, as well as the beneficiary population, which has been estimated at 75.000 people.
