Short Description/Objective

The Scheme aims to encourage investment in digital entrepreneurship and strengthen the digital technology integration in enterprises.

Existing Small and Medium-sized Enterprises (SMEs) that implement digital upgrade costs (including e-commerce) participate in the Scheme, as well as new SMEs of which their investing proposal necessarily includes e-commerce/shop and/or implementation of advanced digital technologies.

The Scheme subsidies costs, such as  required equipment for the digital upgrade, “off the shell” software, specialised software, systems, IT programmes and services, as well as other costs of digital upgrade that are not immediately related with the information systems.

Planning of Calls

The total available budget of the Scheme is €30 million and will be allocated through three Calls for Proposals.

The first and third Call for Proposals of the Scheme will be co-funded through the Cohesion Policy Programme “THALIA 2021-2027”, with a total budget of €20 million.

The first Call was launched on November 8, 2022. Interest was so great that the budget was exhausted on the same day.

The third Call was launched on May 20, 2025. Interest was also so great that the budget was exhausted on the same day.

Regarding the second Call, with a budget of €10 million, it was co-funded by the National Recovery and Resilience Plan during the period March 7, 2023 – March 31, 2023.

Expected Benefits/Outcomes

The Scheme is expected to bring:

  • Increase in the number of SMEs which use information and communication technologies, including the e-commerce sector
  • Creation of new opportunities for enterprises through digital transformation and the use of advanced digital technologies.
