Short Description/Objective 

The project involves the construction of the Research Laboratories of the New Building Facilities of the Faculty of Engineering of the University of Cyprus, which occupy the majority of the Faculty’s Building Facilities. The Research Laboratories relate to the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering, the Department of Mechanical and Manufacturing Engineering and the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering.

The project consists of two phases. Phase A’ was co-funded by the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF) in the programming period 2014-2020 and Phase B’ is co-funded by the EU within the framework of the Cohesion Policy Programme “THALIA 2021-2027”.

Expected Benefits/Outcomes 

Upon completion of the project, the Building Facilities of the Faculty of Engineering will house the Teaching and Research Laboratories, as well as the offices of the Faculty’s Academic and Administrative staff who support all academic activities.

Moreover, the Research Laboratories, including the supporting areas for Researchers and/or Postgraduate students, will create a modern infrastructure aiming to enhance the country’s research capacity.
