The inauguration ceremony of the co-funded project “Creation of a Unified Fire Service Operations Coordination Centre (ESKEPY)” took place today, 28/04/2026, under the organization of the Fire Service, in the presence of the President of the Republic, Mr. Nikos Christodoulides, the Chief Fire Officer, Mr. Nikos Logginos, members of the Government and the Fire Service, as well as other State Services.
The project, with a total budget of €6.5 million is being implemented within the framework of the Cohesion Policy Programme “THALIA 2021–2027,” co-funded by the EU. It constitutes a significant investment in public safety and the country’s operational readiness, as it involves the creation of a modern Unified Operations Coordination Centre within the Fire Service, equipped with advanced technologies and infrastructure for the continuous management of incidents across the country.
Specifically, all calls reaching 112 that concern the Fire Service will be routed to the Centre. From there, through the software system, the Centre’s operators will be able to assess the scale and severity of each incident, promptly inform fire stations, and directly mobilize vehicles by sending notifications to tablets. The system will indicate which station is responsible for handling each incident and how many vehicles need to be deployed.
