Today, 25/09/2025, the Ministry of Finance signed a Loan Agreement with the European Investment Bank (EIB) relating to the disbursement of the second tranche, amounting to €50 million, within the framework of the Loan Agreement for the co-funding of projects and programmes included in the Cohesion Policy Programme “THALIA2021–2027”, co-funded by the European Union’s Cohesion Policy Funds.
This disbursement reflects the EIB’s strong commitment to supporting the country’s development priorities and is directly linked to the ongoing and successful implementation of the Programme. To date, Cyprus has received from the EIB a total of €180 million for the “THALIA2021–2027” Programme, approximately half of the total loan amount (€369 million).
The Programme aims to support green development, innovation, digital transition, social cohesion, and the creation of new jobs. As stated by the Director of EU Cohesion Policy and MFF, Ms. Anthi Filippidou: “To date, more than 150 projects have already been completed or are underway, with funding exceeding €700 million.”
