The first panhellenic Smart Cities exhibition was held on June 16, 2023 at Zappeion Megaron. The aim of the exhibition was the emergence of technologies, services and infrastructures that lead cities to a new model of social organisation. Nicosia was awarded as a leading smart city, for the overall approach and comprehensive strategy regarding its transformation into a smart and sustainable capital, as the specific project which is carried out within the framework of the Cohesion Policy Programme “THALIA 2021-2027”, co-funded by the EU, is constantly evolving, with the aim of a better quality of life for citizens, the creation of an innovation ecosystem for universities, research centers, businesses, etc.
